Catwoman, Julie Newmar Revisits Famed Role Alongside Batmobile

Original Catwoman Julie Newmar took fans on an epic voyage at Animazing Gallery at Grand Canal Shoppes inside The Venetian® and The Palazzo® Las Vegas. In honor of her most famed role, Newmar posed with friends next to the classic 1966 Batmobile upon arriving. To celebrate the opening of the newest flagship exhibit, the iconic actress welcomed fans with autographed limited edition renderings by renowned comic artist, Alex Ross.

In 1966, Julie Newmar was urged by her brother at Harvard to pursue the role of Catwoman in Batman and her sense of humor and physicality made her this show's most popular villain. The legendary actress is also known for her role in an episode of the Twilight Zone in addition to the lead character in My Living Doll.

Founded in New York City, Animazing Gallery began its emphasis on abstract cartoon art in the mid 1980s. Now boasting over 3,000 square feet, the two-level gallery at Grand Canal Shoppes specializes in Contemporary Art, Pop Art, Surrealism one-of-a-kind Illustration art created by a range of renown illustrators such as Charles M. Schulz, Maurice Sendak and Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss.
