Week of April 23

QVegas 250423

Whether you’re a local or tourist, we always feature our favorite spots along with all the new and exciting things our city has to offer.

This week we feature Antioco Carrollo and AFAN. For over four decades, AFAN has led the fight against HIV in Nevada. Executive Director Antioco Carrillo reflects on the organization’s evolution—from crisis response to advocacy, care, and prevention. As the annual AIDS Walk returns, the community is called to walk in solidarity, support local services, and continue the fight.

André Wade of Silver State Equality shares highlights from Equality Lobby Day, key LGBTQ+ legislation in Nevada, and looming federal threats to DEI. Nevada remains a leader in LGBTQ+ rights, but ongoing advocacy is essential to protect recent progress.
